JOHNNY PRESCOTT

EARLY LIFE

Born on 20 August 1938 in Nechells, a working-class district of Birmingham, to unknown parents, becoming an orphan at an early age.[4] This led to his residency at Josiah Mason's Orphanage on Orphanage Road in Erdington, a charitable institution founded in the 19th century to support destitute children in the region.[5] Later, he moved to live with his grandmother in a modest home on William Henry Street in Nechells.

OUTSIDE THE RING

Beyond the ring, Prescott earned the nickname "Playboy" for his vibrant lifestyle, which included socializing with celebrities like George Best and Mike Summerbee, a brief stint managing the pop group Mike Sheridan and the Nightriders, and four marriages; he was a devoted father of three and a lifelong Birmingham City supporter.

DEATH

In his later years, Johnny Prescott resided in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, where he lived a quiet life in retirement away from the public eye.

There was little publicity regarding his health during this period until his final hospitalisation.

In late 2012, Prescott was admitted to Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield. He passed away there on 11 November 2012 at the age of 74, following a long illness that included a battle with dementia for six years.
