Notes
The Scribner Opera House was opened January 16, 1899 and was designed by architect Pillip Schwerdt of architectural firm Laist & Schwerdt. It was partially demolished and the California Theatre was built on its foundations, opening September 14, 1920. In January 1921 it was sold to the West Coast Theatres chain.
The California Theatre was closed on November 23, 1966 with Jack Lemmon in “The Fortune Cookie” & Kirk Douglas in “Cast a Dark Sharow”. It has been converted into a bank.
